A.D.A.S. The Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS) is a not-for-profit diver training and accreditation scheme developed under the auspices of the Petroleum Sub-Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Minerals and Energy Council (ANZMEC).

The Maritime Union Of Australia. As the name suggests this is the union which controls all maritime work in Australia.

Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Acts The Australian center for regulating safety and work procedures.

 

Canada

Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety The Canadian center for regulating safety at work.

Canadian Association of Diving Contractors The ADC of Canada.

Diver Certification Board of Canada  The national body in Canada which certifies the competency of commercial divers.

 

European Union

European Diving Technology Committee (EDTC). The EDTC aims to make European professional diving safer.

 

Netherlands

State Supervisor of Mines. Regulatory body for diving in Dutch waters.

 

Norway

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate. Govern the regulations relating to manned underwater operations in petroleum activities with guidelines.

The Norwegian Board of Health. Make the guidelines for doctors concerning medical examination of divers.

Sweden

Swedish National Board of Occupational Safety and Health. Regulatory body for diving in Swedish waters.

 

United Kingdom

Diving Medical Advisory Committee. DMAC is an independent committee, formed in 1974 to provide advice about medical and certain safety aspects of commercial diving. DMAC has published a series of guidance notes concerning various aspects of diving and diving medical practice, each of which is available for downloading from their website. The notes are also distributed to a large number of offshore diving contractors as they are issued.

Health & Safety Executive (H.S.E.) The UK based H.S.E. has all the regulations required for commercial diving in British waters. A lot of their regulations are in force world wide.

Health & Safety Executive (H.S.E) Approved Diving Doctors. This links through to a page on the HSE website that lists all the UK based Diving Doctors along with their address, phone numbers and fax numbers.

Health & Safety Executive (H.S.E.) Approved Qualifications. This links to the HSE equivalent certification that is recognized by the UK HSE as equivalent to the British Standards. Check here to see if the certificate you have is usable around the world.

International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) This is the international trade association representing offshore, marine and underwater engineering companies. It was formed in April 1995.

The British Standards Institute This will take you to the Web site of the B.S.I. They set standards for everything from testing of gas cylinders to pipeline materials.

United States of America

ADCI. America body chartered in 1970, the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) was established as a non-profit organization to serve as an industry forum in support of improving safety, education, and communication throughout the commercial diving industry

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (O.S.H.A.) The American center for regulating safety at work.
