In 1982 Pat and I were working for 2-W, "Wharton and Williams". The first two photos is of Pat Hicky and myself inside the diving bell at 500 feet. We are working from the DSV ship "Bar Protector". In 1977 Pat was on the "North Hydro" job where the divers were diving to a depth of 1054 feet. A new worlds record at the time. One diver lost his life on that job. Jerry Spencer was also in sat on the North Hydro job. The third photo is of Jerry and myself getting the habitat ready for a weld. Taff Jenkins is in the fourth photo and ran all of the hyperbaric welding work 2W did.
Pat was a good friend to me. He backed me up at work and play. He was also fare, honest, and a good diver. I would say that Pat was a real gentleman in the old meaning of the word, he and Julian Hanberry are the only gentleman divers I have ever met. Jerry would like you to think he was one.
I will also say that in my opinion the world of British hyperbaric welding and 2W owes Taff a grate deal.
