We worked for Taylor Diving when we did this platform repair in the South China Sea. I returned to work here for 2-W and Rockwater later in my career. This job Pat Hicky is my diving partner. Pat and I developed a friend ship on this job that still exists today. He left Taylor Diving in 1981 and hired on with 2-W the same time I did.
On this job it was all surface air decompression diving. I thought I would die of heat stroke before this job was over. The surface decompression chamber was so hot in the tropical sun it was almost unbearable. I took the under water photos of Pat working. We had to dive thought sea snakes swimming on the surface. I hate snakes. On this job we replaced the platforms damaged horizontal brace with a new one. You can see the small habitat we did are welding in. We over turned the crane because the operator had boomed out to far. In the last photo Jerry Spencer is acting the clown.
